THE COMPLETE MALTA

DAY 1 MADRID – VALLETA Meeting in Madrid-Barajas Airport to leave on a flight to Malta.

DAY 2 VALLETA – MALTA Arrival and Assisted transfer to the hotel. Breakfast. Morning free and lunch in the hotel. Departure at the scheduled time by coach with our guide for the tour of Valetta, capital of Malta, built in the 16th century by the Knights of the Order of St. John. The excursion will take us to the Barracca Gardens, from where we can contemplate an impressive panorama of the Port. Continuation to the Cathedral Saint John the Baptist. Here the famous Caravaggio painting can be seen. We will pass through the palace of the Grand Master and other buildings of historic importance. At the end of the visit we will be able to enjoy a multivisional projection ‘Malta Experience’ that tells us the history of the islands of Malta From prehistoric up to modern times. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 MALTA. EXCURSION TO MOSTA, MEDINA AND RABAT Breakfast. Departure in coach, in order to take Full day excursion. Our first visit is to Mosta, famous for its round ome, which is the 4° largest in Europe . The Basilica is dedicated to Saint Mary. Tour of Rabat, where the Grotto of Saint Paul is found. Lunch in restaurant and after lunch, city tour of Mdina. Strolling through the narrow streets of the city of silencewe will visit St. Paul’s Cathedral – Patron saint of the island of Malta, and we will arrive to the bastions, from where almost all of the island can be seen. We will leave the city of Mdina through the “Greek Gate.” Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 MALTA. EXCURSION TO MELLIEHA, MGARR AND MINI CRUISE Breakfast. Departure to begin a Full day excursion to the northernmost part of the Island. Our first visit is to the Shrine of Saint Mary and the town of Mellieha. Afterwards we will visit the town of Mgarr with its church dedicated to Saint Mary. Lunch in restaurant. Continuation to the area of Sliema, where we will embark on a mini-cruise on which we will navigate the two natural ports around Valletta; Marsamxett and the Great Port, one of the most beautiful in Europe . The majesty of the fortified area seen from the sea is a true treasure for photographers. Return to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 5 MALTA – EXCURSION TO THE TEMPLES Breakfast. Departure on an excursion to the southern part of the island. Tour of the prehistoric temples of Tarxien, three temples that are still well preserved and amply demonstrate the artistic ability and capacity of the inhabitants of the Megalithic Period. Continuation to the picturesque fishing village of Marsaxlokk Lunch. Continuation to Ghar Dalam (Dark cave) one of the first inhabited places in Malta, where fossilized bones of animals can also be seen. Return to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 MALTA – EXCURSION TO GOZO Breakfast. Excursion to Gozo, sister island of Malta. We will disembark in Gozo after a crossing of approximately twenty minutes. Although the two islands have a similar history and development, it is clear that Gozo has its own character. Gozo is greener and more picturesque than Malta. On this excursion we will visit the temples of Ggantija, the Shrine of Ta’ Pinu, the Church of Saint George and Xlendi Bay. Lunch. Free time. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 7 MALTA Breakfast Transfer to Valletta and free time. Return to the hotel. Lunch. Afternoon free. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 MALTA – MADRID (Following day) Breakfast Departure in order to take a half-day excursion in which we will discover the historic area known as the Three Cities: Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea or the Cottonera Lines. Traveling through Cospicua by coach we will arrive in Birgu, or Victoriosa as it is known today, where we will stroll through the its alleyways. In Senglea we highlight the magnificent Guard Tower in the center of the Port, the Church of Maria Bambina, where there is a statue of the Redeemer. Return to the hotel. Lunch. Afternoon free. Dinner and transfer to the airport to embark on a scheduled flight for Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP.
