Salamanca and Portugal

DAY 1 MADRID – AVILA – SALAMANCA 8:00 A.M. departure from our terminal (San Bernardo, 7) for Avila, Castilian city that conserves its Medieval walls. Free time to get to know the walled area and old part of town, with Continuation to Salamanca. Free time to stroll through the historic center and through the famous Baroque Main Square. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 SALAMANCA – COIMBRA Breakfast. Midmorning Departure for Ciudad Rodrigo and the Portuguese border to continue on, via Guarda, to Coimbra, seat of one fo the oldest universities in Europe and birthplace of Fado. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 COIMBRA – FATIMA – LISBON Breakfast and departure for Fátima, important pilgrimage center. Free time to visit the Basilica and later Continuation to Lisbon, capital of Portugal situated at the mouth of the Tagus River. Lodging.

DAY 4 LISBON Lodging and Breakfast. Morning panoramic tour of the city: Alfama Neighborhood, Tower of Belem, the Hieronymites Monastery, etc. Afternoon free. Optional excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril.

DAY 5 LISBON – MERIDA – MADRID Breakfast. Departure for Mérida. Lunch and tour of the Roman Theater. Later Continuation to Madrid. Arrival and end of services.
