DAY 1 MADRID – BURGO DE OSMA – SORIA
Departure at the scheduled time in coach from Madrid to Burgo de Osma, where we will visit its Cathedral, of Romanesque origin, and the nucleus of the pueblo, where the Calle Mayor, is the axis of the historic center and where the barroca Plaza Mayor (Main Square) is located. Lunch in the Virrey de Palafox, where they celebrate annually some interesting “gastronomical-rite days of the slaughter of the hog”. Continuation of the journe, taking shorts stops in the towns of Calatañazor, Abejar, Laguna Negra and Vinuesa, places that evoke Antonio Machado. Arrival in Soria at the end of the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 2 SORIA – TUDELA – TAFALLA PAMPLONA
Breakfast. Departure at the scheduled time for Tudela, town famous for its asparagus, its peppers and its blood sausage, where we will have some free time to savor them over lunch. Continuation of the journey to Tafalla, small city that serves as a connection between the mountain and the bank. Then we will continue the journey to Pamplona, where we will have dinner in a typical restaurant. Transfer to the hotel and lodging.
DAY 3 PAMPLONA – LOGROÑO
Breakfast and departure for San Salvador de Leyre and Javier. Lunch next to the Yesa Reservoir, and return to Pamplona. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 4 PAMPLONA
Breakfast and panoramic tour of the city, contemplating the Cathedral, sober Gothic temple, that in the 16th century had a discordante neoclassical façade neoclassical added to it. Then we will have lunch, where we will be able to taste the wine from the region of Navarra, as well as the powerful mountain cuisine accompanied by versatile vegetables from La Ribera. Then we will transfer to Logroño to visit the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Round. After the visit we will have dinner in a typical restaurant to taste a meal based on vegetales of extraordinary quality, with special mention of the peppers from the orchards of the Ebro and all accompanied by fabulous Riojano wines. Return to the hotel. Lodging.
DAY 5 LOGROÑO
Breakfast and departure for Cenicero and Haro, that with the appearance of a stately town enhances its northern streets and squares. Haro has important wineries that make it the commercial capital of the wine from Rioja. We will visit wineries with denominación de origin Rioja and we will have a typical lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will continue the tour in Santo Domingo de la Calzada and Nájera on St. James’ Way. After the visits we will return to the hotel. Dinner and Lodging.
DAY 6 LOGROÑO – BURGOS
Breakfast and departure for Burgos, where we will visit the Cathedral, Gothic jewel in style based on a earlier Romanesque temple and following the great models of the great Franco-norman cathedrals. We will also see the Monastery of las Huelgas, in whose center is found the Mausoleum of the founderes King Juan II and his wife Isabel of Portugal, masterpiece and with abundant sculptural decoration of Gil de Siloé. After the visits we will have Lunch in a local restaurant where we will be able savor typical dishes like blood sausage with rice, las red Ibean beans, roast lamb or or the most emblematic dish called the Olla Podrida (potpourri). In the afternoon we will have free time at our disposal. Dinner and Lodging.
DAY 7 BURGOS – RIBERA DEL DUERO – ARANDA DEL DUERO – MADRID
Breakfast and departure for Ribera del Duero, where wines with denominación de origen are born. We will visit San Esteban de Gormaz and Peñafiel, where we will find a proud fortress constructed between the 11th and 15th centuries of elongated forms and more than 200 meters long. We will also visit some wineries. Lunch will be had in a local restaurant in Aranda del Duero, and will consist of Roast lamb, which according to traditional preparation is made in a wood oven, accompanied by wine from La Ribera del Duero. Return to Madrid. END OF TRIP
