DAY 1 MADRID – VALLADOLID Meet at the agreed upon time to leave by coach for Valladolid, an ancient city whose foundation predates the Roman domination situated on a vast plain watered by the Pisuerga and Esqueva Rivers. Lunch. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 2 VALLADOLID – BURGOS – VITORIA – PAMPLONA Breakfast. Free time to visit the historic center, with the College of Saint Gregory, from the 15th century, the Cathedral, the Church of the Holy Corss, etc. Departure for Burgos, where a large part of the legendary exploits of the Cid happened. Free time to see the Cathedral. Lunch. Continuation to Vitoria. Free time to visit its Medieval Quarter, which still conserves part of its walls. Continuation to Pamplona. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 3 PAMPLONA – ESTELLA – LOGROÑO Breakfast and Free time to see the historic center, the Citadel, the Cathedral, Town Hall, as well as various churches of great value. Departure for Estella. Panoramic tour of this city, situatated on Saint James’ Way, which was fundamental for its urban and monumental development. Lunch and Continuation to Logroño, capital of the Rioja, on the banks of the Ebro. Arrival. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 4 LOGROÑO – TOUR OF THE MONASTERIES Breakfast. Departure to take an unmatchable tour. First we will head to San Millán de the Cogolla. The Monastery of Yuso, of Romanesque origin, rises up from the valley floor. Very close by stands the Monastery of Suso, with its impressive simplicity. In the same setting is the village of Berceo. Continuation to the Monastery of Valvanera, which keeps the Patron Saint of the Rioja, making it the meeting point of continual Marian pilgrimages. Return to Logroño. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a panoramic tour through the city, where we will contemplate the Cathedral of Saint Mary, the historic center, the Stone Bridge, from where an impressive panorama of the city can be enjoyed. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 5 LOGROÑO – WINE ROUTE Breakfast. Departure for the capital of the Rioja Alavesa, the Guardia Biasteri, where we find the fabulis Samaniego’s birth place, now converted into the House of Wine. Tour of one of its famous wineries. Lunch. Departure for Santo Domingo de la Calzada, quintessentail Jacobean city. Free time to visit the Old Hospital for Pilgrims, which is now a National Parador, its lovely Cathedral, etc. Continuation to Nájera, which features, among other monuements, the medieval walls, the Monastery of Royal Saint Mary, etc. Return to Logroño. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 6 LOGROÑO – SORIA – MADRID Breakfast. Departure for Soria. Free time to see this Castilian city, its stately streets, the portal of the Church of Saint Dominic, etc. Lunch. Continuation to Madrid. Arrival and end of services.
