Medjugorje, Croatia and Slovenia

DAY 1 MADRID – VENICE – POSTOJNA – LJUBLJANA Meeting in the airport at the scheduled time to embark on a scheduled flight for Venice. Arrival to the airport of Venice, meeting with the guide and departure for the Slovene border, to Postojna for the tour of the famous Caves of Postojna, the largest in the world that are visited. The visit will be made in a tourist train. Lunch and continuation to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, in order to admire this beautiful city. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 LJUBLJANA – BREZJE – BLED – LJUBLJANA Breakfast and departure for Brezje, where the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians is found. Tour of the Basilica, and continuation to Bled, city situated at the feet of the Julian Alps, on the banks of a beautiful lake of emerald green water, which gives it its name. The visit includes passage in gondolas to the island. Tour of the Castle of Bled, from where a beautiful panoramic view of the lake, with its picturesque island in the center, and its surroundings can be enjoyed. Lunch and Return to Ljubljana. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 LJUBLJANA – ZAGREB – PLITVICE Breakfast. Early morning departure for Zagreb. Arrival to the capital of Croatia. Tour of the historic center “Gornji Grad“ with its famous Cathedral from the 12th century, connected to the the low city by a funicular, the Church of Saint Mark, King Tomislav Square, where the monument to this Croat King, work of the sculptor Robert Franges, is found. Departure for Plitvice. Lunch. Tour of the national park where the sixteen lakes are connected by 92 waterfalls and cascades, declared national park and catalogued as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 PLITVICE – DELTA DE NERETVA – DUBROVNIK Breakfast and departure for Sinj, small city where each year the knightly game call “alka” is celebrated, when people dressed in traditional costume ride horses and at a gallop point their lance at a hoop hung from a wire. Then the road will lead us through the valley of the Neretva River, toward its delta, where we will make a brief stop for the view of the delta and of the “eye of Neretva” which is 3.5 km deep. Lunch. Continuation to Dubrovnik. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 5 DUBROVNIK-MEDJUGORJE Breakfast and morning tour of the famous “Pearl of the Adriatic.” The Old city, also declared UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by 1940 meters of Gothic and Renaissance walls, guards in its interior numerous churches and Renaissance palaces constructed in the 16th century. Minceta, the largest tower in the mainland area of the wall of Dubrovnik and the best preserved in Europe, is a masterpiece of the Renaissance that served as a defense for the citizens. We will also visit the oldest pharmacy in the world. Lunch and departure for the Bosnian border. Arrival in Medjugorje, which from the year 1981 has been the most important pilgrimage center in the Balkans. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 MEDJUGORJE – ZADAR – OPATIJA Breakfast. Tour of this emblematic place where the Parish of Saint James and the Mount of the Apparitions stand. Celebration of the Eucharist. Lunch and departure for Zadar. Tour of the ruins of the Roman Forum and of the Church of Saint Donatus from the 9th century, sole round medieval monumental construction in Dalmatia. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 7 ZADAR – OPATIJA – VENICE Breakfast. Departure for Opatija, city founded in the Middle Ages. Lunch and continuation to Venice. Arrival in Venice, and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 VENICE – MADRID Breakfast. Transfer to Venice. Panoramic tour of the city, St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, the Campanile and the Bridge of Sighs. Transfer at the scheduled time to the Airport of Venice to board the regular flight to for Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP
