Madrid, Extremadura and Lisbon

DAY 1 MADRID Arrival to Madrid and meeting with the accompanying guide. Transfer to the hotel and free time. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 MADRID Breakfast. In the morning we will take a panoramic tour of the city, becoming acquainted with emblemtic corners such as the Puerta del Sol. Then tour of the Royal Palace, official residence of the kings of Spain, although currently this building only houses ceremonies of State. Free time. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 MADRID Breakfast. Then we will visit the Prado Museum, whose corridors house some of the most important art works of Spain by the internationally most known artists like Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, etc. In the afternoon, we will visit Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 MADRID – EXCURSION TO TOLEDO Breakfast. Morning city tour de Toledo, known for having been the capital of Spain and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It is made up of various monuments built by different cultures: Jewish, Arabic, Christian. This city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Return to Madrid. Free time. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 5 MADRID – TRUJILLO – MERIDA Breakfast and departure for Trujillo, birthplace of the explorer Pizarro. Tour of the central square presided over by the Church of Saint Martin and surrounded by the houses of the most aristocratic families of the town. Continue up to the Gothic church of Saint Mary, from where we can obseve a beautiful panoramic view of the town and the Extremaduran pastureland. Continuation to Mérida, town located on St. James’ Way (Camino of Saint James) via the Silver Way (Vía de the silver) . Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 MERIDA – EXCURSION TO CACERES Breakfast. Morning tour of Mérida, known for its great legacy of the Roman Empire. We will visit its majectic Roman theater, which they still use today as scenery and where they celebrate the annual Mérida Theater Festival, of great prestige in the world of art. In the afternoon, we will leave for Cáceres, whose historic center is perfectly preserved inside its walls, and we will be able to contemplate the majestic palaces of the most powerful families which can be found among its streets. Return to the hotel in Mérida. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 7 MERIDA – BADAJOZ – EVORA – LISBON Breakfast. Departure for Badajoz, where we will take a panoramic tour of the old city. We can contemplate monuments such as the Alcazaba, declared historical artistic heritage in 1931. We continue on to our neighboring country, to the city of Evora; declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the visit, we will continue on to Lisbon. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 LISBON Breakfast. We will begin by visitig the financial district of the city. At the top of the hill of Lisbon we find the Castle of Saint George, from which there is a spectacular view of the city and the bay. Then we will visit its most picturesque neighborhoods full of steep and narrow streets, and the Hieronymites Monastery. Free time. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 9 LISBON – EXCURSION TO SINTRA, CASCAIS AND ESTORIL Breakfast. Tour of the patrimonial city of Sintra. We will stroll through its streets of extreme beauty, going up to the top of the hill, and we will visit Pena Palaca, with its strange and extravagant color combination. Then we will take a trip along the coast. Our first stop is the small and historic locale of Cascais. Then we will continue our route to the locale of Estoril known for its flamboyant Casino and its marvelous beaches. Return to Lisbon. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 10 LISBON Breakfast. Transfer to the airport at the specified time to board the scheduled flight to our point of origin. End of services.
