Italy and Medjugorje

DAY 1 MADRID-ROME-NAPLES Departure at the scheduled time in regular flight for Rome. Arrival in Rome and bus pickup to transfer to Naples. Panoramic tour of Naples, which reflects the Roman, medieval and Spanish periods. In the Roman part is found the Cathedral, the medieval part covers from the warves to the Castel Nuovo, and the Spanish part extends to the west of the Via Toledo. Between the most beautiful historical buildings it is worth noting the Castel Nuovo, an imposing castle constructed in 1279, the Opera House San Carlo, from 1737, the Royal Palace. Tour of the gothic Cathedral of Saint Genaro, from the 15th century. Lunch. Then tour of Pompeii, UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was buried in the year 79 A.D. by the eruption of Vesubius during the reign of Emperor Tito, where we can get a pretty exact idea of what daily life was like in a Roman city during the empire, with its streets and its diverse public and private spaces. Tour of The Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary and one of the major centers of Marian devotion in Italy. Return to Naples. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 NAPLES – SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO – BARI Breakfast. Departure at the scheduled time in coach for San Giovanni to visit the city, that still conserves the structure of an ancient mountain village, with white-roofed buildings with the characteristic red clay roof. We will walk in the footsteps of Saint Pío of Pietrelcina, known as Father Pío, famous for his supernatural deeds and for his stigmata: the five wounds of Christ crucified that he carried visibly on his body for 50 years. Tour of the Church Santa Maria delle Grazie where we find the remains of the Father Pío. Lunch and continuation to Bari to embark on the Jadrolinija Ferry to Dubrovnik. Dinner and Night on board.

DAY 3 DUBROVNIK – MEDJUGORJE Breakfast on board. Arrival in Dubrovnik on the ferry from Bari. Panoramic tour of Dubrovnik declared UNESCO World Heritage Site . It is surrounded by 1940 meters of long Gothic and Renaissance walls and it guards in its interior numerous churches and Renaissance palaces constructed in the 16th century. Minceta, the largest tower in the mainland area of the wall of Dubrovnik and the best preserved in Europe, is a masterpiece of the Renaissance that served as a defense for the citizens.. We will visit The Dominican and Franciscan Monasteries. Lunch en route to Medjugorje. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 MEDJUGORJE Full board. This day we will celebrate Holy Mass, Adoration in the Chapel of the Adoration, Via Crucis, Prayer and Veneration of the Cross. Lodging.

DAY 5 MEDJUGORJE Full board. This day we will celebrate Holy Mass, Adoration in the Chapel of the Adoration, Rosary, and Eucharistic Adoration. Lodging.

DAY 6 MEDJUGORJE – MOSTAR – SPLIT Breakfast. At the designated time departure for Mostar. Guided tour of the city, with alleys, markets and its famous Old Bridge (Stara Most), which was destroyed during the war in 1993 and recently reconstructed by UNESCO. Tour of the Mosque and the Turkish House. Continuation to Split. Lunch. In the afternoon city tour, important fishing port and naval base of the Adriatic and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The city grew around the Resting House of the Roman Emperor Dioclecian, who was born near Split in the year 245. Tour of the Cathedral of Saint Duje, Patron saint of Split, and the Temple of Jupiter. Embarkation on the Jadrolinija Ferry to Ancona. Dinner and Night on board.

DAY 7 ANCONA – ASSISI – ROME Breakfast on board. Arrival on the ferry to Ancona from Split. Transfer to Assisi to take a tour of the city where Saints Francis and Clara were born. Panoramic tour of the city, situated over a protrusion of Mount Subasio. We will be able to see the imposing Historic Grouping of the Convent and the Basilica of Saint Francis, the temple of Minerva, perfectly conserved Roman monument currently converted into a church, the Duomo from the 12th and 13th centuries. Tour of the Basilica of Saint Francis. Lunch. Continuation to Rome. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 ROME-MADRID Breakfast. At the scheduled time panoramic tour of the city, traveling through the most emblematic places of this city. Then tour of Baroque Rome, where we will see, among others places of interest, the Piazza Navona, the most spectactular and characteristic of Baroque Rome, with the splendid fountains and statues by Bernini, Trevi Fountain, whose waters gush in abundance and the enormous seahorses guided by Neptune seem to jump over the wave and the Piazza di Spagna among others. Lunch. Continuation to the Vatican to visit the impressive Basilica of Saint Peter. Transfer to the airport to embark on the flight to Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP
