DAY 1 MADRID – FRANKFURT – COLOGNE Departure on flight LA 704 at 3:10 P.M. for Frankfurt. Arrival to the financial capital of Germany at 15:50 P.M. Departure for Cologne. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 2 COLOGNE – AQUISGRAN – LIÈGE – TRIER (Treveris) Breakfast. Free time to visit Cologne, founded by the Romans in the year 50 A.D. The Cathedral, one of the most splendid European Gothic buildings, whose construction took 600 years and was not finished until 1880, stands out. This impressive Cathedral has twin towers topped by exquisitely worked needles that rise 157 meters high. In addition it holds the Reliquary of the Three Magi, brought from Milan by Frederick Barbarroja. Its famous university, founded in 1388, is one of the oldest in Europe. Continuation to Aachen, the city of Charlemagne and the the westernmost in Germany. City tour, in which stand out the Cathedral, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Town Hall, which is built over the walls of Charlemagne’s Aula Regia. Lunch. Continuation to Liège. Free time in Liège and continuation to Trier. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 3 TRIER – Excursion to Luxembourg Breakfast. City tour of Trier. In the Cathedral of Saint Peter is found the Holy Robe, the Robe of Christ, that according to the testimony of the Roman soldiers, was found by the mother of Emperor Constantine, Saint Helena, who later brought it from Jerusalem to Trier. The seamless robe is considered a symbol of the unity of the Church. Lunch. In the afternoon we will take an excursion to Luxembourg, one of the richest cities in Europe that has become an important financial and administrative center. The city of Luxembourg contains various institutions of the European Union, including the European Court of Justice, the European Court of Auditors and the European Investment Bank. Return to Trier. DAY 4 TRIER – COCHEN – EIBINGEN – HEIDELBERG Breakfast. Departure for the city of Cochen where we will visit This beautiful enclave on the banks of the Mosel. Tour of the Castle and continuation to Bermershein site of the Abbey of Eibingen, which guards in its interior the relics of Hildegard of Bingen. Lunch and Continuation to Heidelberg. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging
DAY 5 HEIDELBERG – FRANKFURT – MADRID Breakfast. Morning tour of this lovely university city, where among others artistic monuments, the Castle stands out. Lunch and transfer at the designated time to the Airport of Frankfurt to depart on flight LA 705 at 7:30 P.M. for Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP
