CASTILE, GALICIA AND ASTURIAS (4 DAYS OR MORE)

DAY 1 MADRID – SEGOVIA – TORDESILLAS or VALLADOLID

Breakfast and departure in private coach to Segovia, situated 93 km from Madrid, monumental city, where we will take a panoramic tour, contemplating the famous Roman aqueduct constructed in the 1st century, The Alcázar, the Cathedral built in 1525, which is known for being the last Gothic temple built in Spain. After the visit we will have lunch in a typical Segovian restaurant, where we will savor the very roast suckling pig (cochinillo asado). After lunch we will continue the journey to Valladolid or Tordesillas.  Lodging.

DAY 2 TORDESILLAS OR VALLADOLID – RIBERA DEL DUERO – GALICIA

Breakfast and departure for Galicia crossing the area of the Ribera del Duero, where they make some of the best wines of the country. Lunch will be eaten en route in a typical restaurant, where we will taste the famous roast lamb bathed in delicious broth. Continuation of the journey to Galicia. Lodging.

DAY 3 GALICIA

Breakfast and departure in order to take an excursion to the area of the Lower Rías, with its picturesque towns such as Combarro, Sanxenxo, or Grove or A Toja. On the way we will have lunch in a typical restaurant where we will enjoy a meal of seafood and fresh fish. In the afternoon we will take a tour of Santiago de Compostela, end of the pilgrim route of Saint James, where we will visit its peaceful streets, the Obradoiro Square, the university, and chiefly the Cathedral, architectural jewel of the Romanesque with its majestic portico of the Gloria and where the remains of the Apostle Saint James are found. Upon finishing the tour, we will return to the hotel. Lodging.

DAY 4 GALICIA – OVIEDO

Breakfast and departure for Oviedo driving through part of the Rías Altas (Upper Rías, Estuaries) and the beautiful Asturian coast. Arrival in Oviedo, location of the famous church Santa María del Naranco. Lodging.

DAY 5 OVIEDO

Breakfast and departure for Cangas de Onís, beautiful town famous for its Roman Bridge, and then to Covadonga, where It is said that the Reconquest began. Lunch will be eaten in the region, savoring the products from the area such as the cheeses, of great variety, the delicious chorizo a la sidra, and the famous fabes. Upon finishing return to Oviedo. Lodging.

DAY 6 OVIEDO – LEÓN – MADRID

Breakfast and departure for Madrid, stopping in the gorgeous city of León where we will have free time and Lunch to taste the delicious cecina or the botillo. Continuation to Madrid, and END OF TRIP
