DAY 1 MADRID – VIVAR DEL CID – BURGOS
Meet at the agreed upon time to leave for a Burgos. Stop in Aranda del Duero. Departure for Vivar del Cid. Brief stop in this lovely city where the Route of El Cid begins and where, among other things, we will find the Windmill, the Convent of Our Lady of the Thorn and the Monument to El Cid. Arrival in Burgos. Lunch. Panoramic tour of the city, in which we will be able to contemplate the Cathedral and the center of Burgos. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 2 BURGOS – PUENTEDEY – OJO GUAREÑA – ESPINOSA DE LOS MONTEROS – MACHORRAS – VILLARCAYO – BURGOS
Breakfast. Departure to take a full day excursion to the famous Merindades. The first stop that we will take is in Puentedey, the town with the most beautiful natural bridge in the province, known as the Bridge of God. We will continue our trip to Ojo Guareña, where we can contemplate the beautiful source of the river, as well as its hermitage. Continuation to Espinosa de los Monteros, where we will have free time to see its palaces, the tower, the mansions, the square and the city center. Lunch. Free time to enjoy this town. We will take up the tour again by climbing to las Machorras, the entrance gate to the four burgalese Pasiegos Rivers. We continue the trip to hacia Villarcayo, where we will make a brief stop to enjoy popular architecture that inherited the characteristics of mountain houses. Return to the hotel. Arrival. Dinner and lodging.
DAY 3 BURGOS – COVARRUBIAS- SANTO DOMINGO DE SILOS- CAÑON DE RIO LOBOS- BURGO DE OSMA- BERLANGA DEL DUERO-MADRID
Breakfast and departure for Covarrubias, town of Doña Urraca, that still conserves its walled section, and its historic center remember its important medieval past. Departure to Santo Domingo de Silos, location of the famous Benedictine abbey whose monks have conquered souls in the whole world with their humble Gregorian chant. In its interior you can visit the Church and the drugstore, exquisite Gothic constructions, but we highlight its lovely cloister and its famous cypress. Departure for San Leonardo de Yagüe. From there we can access the canyon of the Lobos River, place of spectacular natural beauty, where we can view Griffon vultures, ospreys, golden eagles, owls,…Continuation to the Burgo de Osma. Free time in this town where a spectacular Cathedral with an incredible mixture of styles rises up and where the tomb of the Beato of Osma (from the 11th century) can be found. Lunch. Continuation via Berlanga del Duero. where the Cid was the first mayor, to arrive in Madrid Arrival and END OF TRIP
