SENSES OF CATALONIA

DAY 1  MADRID

Arrival in Madrid, baggage collection and meeting with the accompanying guide. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 MADRID – ZARAGOZA – GIRONA

Breakfast. At the designated time, departure in coach for Girona. During the journey we will make a stop in Zaragoza to eat lunch and take a short city tour, where we will contemplate  the imposing Basilica of the Pilar and its surroundings. Continuation to Girona. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 GIRONA – RIBES DE FRESER – EL VALL DE NURIA – GIRONA

Breakfast. Departure in order to take an excursion to the Monastery of Saint John of the Abbesses, situated in the region of Ripollés (Girona). It is a Church in whose interior one can contemplate the altarpiece  of the White Virgin, as well as the Chapel of the Pains, from the baroque period. Departure for Ribes de Freser where we will take  the cog railway that will leave us in the Vall de Nuria. Lunch. where we will be able to enjoy an impressive Pyrrenean landscape situated in the municipality of Queralbs (Girona). There we will see the Shrine of the Virgin of Nuria, where in 1931 they wrote the first autonomous statute of Catalonia. The image of the Virgin of Nuria that is venerated today is a carving of Romanesque style with primitive features that is perfectly conserved. However due to the passage of time, the humidity and the smoke from the candles, it has a blackish color that gave it the nickname of the “moreneta of the Pirineu”. Return to Ribes de Freser in the cog railway. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 GIRONA – LA GARROTXA – BESALÚ – GIRONA

Breakfast. Departure for the volcanic park volcánico of La Garrotxa, the best exponent of volcanic landscape in the Peninsula. It has it has a quarantine of volcanic cones and more than twenty lava washes. The orography, along with the groud and the climate provide a varied vegetation, often exuberant, with oaks and beeches of excepcional landscape value that make of this place an authentic gift to view. Lunch. Departure for Besalú, medieval little town in the area of La Garrotxa that highlights its castle, also of medieval style medieval. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 5 GIRONA – FIGUERES – BARCELONA

Breakfast. Departure for Figueres, where We will take a tour of the theater-Dalí Museum-Theater. There we will be able to observe the largest collection of art dedicated exclusively to the dead and transgressive Dalí. The building that houses the museum was constructed in 1849. However, in 1939, during the Spanish Civil War, it was destroyed by the fire, that left standing only the structure of what had been a gorgeous Neoclassical construction.  City tour, where we can contemplate the Parish Church of Saint Peter and the Castle of Saint Peter. Lunch. Departure for Barcelona. Arrival in Barcelona and panoramic tour of the city, the Gothic Quarter, las Ramblas, Catalonia Square, the Cathedral, and the port with the statue of Columbus. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 BARCELONA – MADRID

Breakfast. Guided visit of the Sagrada family. Lunch. Afternoon departure in AVE to Madrid. Arrival in Madrid. Free time to enjoy the night life of the city. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 7  MADRID

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport at the specified time to embark on a flight to your place of origin. END OF TRIP
