Croatia and Slovenia

DAY 1 MADRID – VENICE– LJUBLJANA Meet at the agreed upon time to embark on a flight to Venice. Arrival in Venice airport and departure for Ljubljana. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 LJUBIANA – BLED– POSTOJNA – LJUBJANA Breakfast. Departure for the famous Lake Bled. Bled is a city situated at the feet of the Julian Alps, on the banks of a beautiful lake of emerald green water, which gives it its name. The visit includes passage in gondolas to the island. Tour of Bled Castle, from where a beautiful panoramic view of the lake, with its picturesque island in the center, and its surroundings can be enjoyed. Once the visit is finished, transfer to a local restaurant in Radovljica. Lunch. Continuation to Postojna for the tour of the famous Postojna Cave, the largest visitable cave in the world. The visit is made on a tourist train. Return to Ljubljana. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 LJUBLJANA -ZAGREB – PLITVICE Breakfast and early departure for Zagreb. Arrival to the capital of Croatia and tour of the historic center “Gornji Grad” with its famous Cathedral from the 12th century, connected to the the low city by a funicular, the Church of Saint Mark, King Tomislav Square, where the monument to the Croatian king by the same name, work of the sculptor Robert Franges, can be found. Then trip to Plitvice. Lunch. Tour of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, where the sixteen lakes are connected by 92 waterfalls and cascades. Thanks to its impressive beauty and to the richness of its flora and fauna, this region was declared a national park and has been catalogued as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 PLITVICE – NERETVA DELTA – DUBROVNIK Breakfast. Departure for Sinj, small city where each year the knightly game call “alka” is celebrated, when people dressed in traditional costume ride horses and at a gallop point their lance at a hoop hung from a wire. Then the road will lead us through the valley of the Neretva River, toward its delta, where we will take a brief stop to see the pretty delta and the Eye of the Neretva, which has a depth of 3.5 km. Lunch. Continuation to Dubrovnik. Dinner and lodging

DAY 5 DUBROVNIK Breakfast. Morning tour of the famous “Pearl of the Adriatic”. The old city, UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by 1940 meters of Gothic and Renaissance walls, guards in its interior numerous churches and Renaissance palaces constructed in the 16th century. A masterpiece of the Renaissance that served as a defense for the citizens is Minceta, the largest tower in the mainland area of the wall of Dubrovnik, and the best preserved in Europe. Lunch. Afternoon free. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 DUBROVNIK – SPLIT Breakfast. Trip to Splitt traveling along the Adriatic Coast. Arrival in Split, lunch, and in the afternoon city tour. The Diocletian Palace (from the 3rd century and reformed in the Middle Ages), the Cathedral of Saint Duje (patron saint of Split) and the temple of Jupiter, form part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and Lodging.

DAY 7 SPLIT – TROGIR- ZADAR- OPATIJA Breakfast. Departure for Zadar. Brief stop in the ancient city of Trogir, which also forms part of UNESCO. It is situated on a small island, connected to the mainland by a stone bridge. This small city is a true living museum with numerous vestiges from the Middle Ages in each street. Continue to Zadar with the ruins of the Roman Forum and the Church of Saint Donatus, sole round medieval monumental construction in Dalmatia. Lunch. Departure for Opatija. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 OPATIJA – VENICE – MADRID Breakfast and departure for the Airport of Venice to leave on a flight to Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP
