Holy Land I

DAY 1 MADRID – TEL AVIV Meeting in the airport at the designated time to leave on flight to Tel Aviv. Arrival to the airport of Ben Gurion. Assitance with arrival procedures and transfer to the hotel in Tel Aviv. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 2 TEL AVIV – CESAREA MARITIMA – HAIFA – NAZARETH – TIBERIAS Breakfast. Departure for panoramic tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa, tour of the Shrine of Saint Peter and the artistic neighborhood. Tranfer to the ruins of Cesarea Maritima- large metropolis and capital of Judea under Roman rule-, which recalls, among other things, the conversion of the Centurion Cornelius and his family to Christianity at the hands of Saint Peter, and the prison of Saint Paul. Tour of the Roman theater, of the crusader city-fortress and of the port and Herodian aqueduct. We will continue to the north. During the journey we will enjoy the view of the Mediterranean to the left and Mount Carmel to the right. Arrival to the city of Haifa. Contemplation of the magnificent view of the city, the bay, and the port from Mount Carmel. Tour of Stella Maris, first and main shrine in the world to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Crossing the region of Galilee and arrival in Nazareth, site of the Incarnation and where Jesus lived and grew along side Mary and Joseph. Lunch. Afternoon tour of the Crypt and Basilica of the Annunciation, Church of Saint Joseph, museum and Fountain of the Virgin. Continuation to Tiberias. Arrival. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 3 TIBERIAS – SEA OF GALILEE – CAPERNAUM – TABGA – MT. BEATITUDES – CANA – TIBERIAS Breakfast. Travesía of the Sea of Galilee. Tour of the ruins of Capernaum, where Jesus preached and worked many miracles: house of Saint Peter, where Jesus as a guest, and the Synagogue from the 4th century. We will continue on to Tabga to visit the Church of the Primate, site of Jesus’ appearance after the resurrection and where he confirmed Peter as the head of the Church after the miraculous catch of fish, and the church with mosaics that commemorates the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Ascent to the Mount of Beatitudes. Return to Tiberias. Lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Cana in Galilee, where Jesus worked his first sign and homeland of the Apostle Bartholomew. Continuation to the Jordan River, where we can renew our baptismal promises. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 4 TIBERIAS – MOUNT TABOR – JORDAN VALLEY – DEAD SEA – QUMRAN – JERUSALEM Breakfast. Departure for Mount Tabor, from whose summit a splendid view of Lower Galilee can be enjoyed on clear days. Tour of the Basilica of the Transfiguration. Continuation of the trip to the next town of Nain, where Jesus resurrected the son of the widow. Beginning of the descent through the Jordan Valley, leaving to the left the mount call Little Hermon, and at its base, Sunem, biblical town where the prophet Elisha resurrected the son of the Shunamite woman. Continuation to the Dead Sea, 400 m below sea level, with option to bathe. Lunch. Afternoon tour of Qumran, where the found The famous manuscripts of the Essenes. Ascent to Jerusalem, crossing the Judean Desert. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 5 JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM – AIN KAREN – JERUSALEM Breakfast. Transfer to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherd’s Field, the Byzantine Basilica of the Nativity, the Grotto, the Church of Saint Catherine, with its crusade cloister and the Crypt of Saint Jerome. Lunch. In the afternoon, Transfer to the pueblo de Ain Karen birthplace de Saint John the Baptist and of the Visitation de María a Its prima Isabel. Return to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 6 JERUSALEM Breakfast. Transfer to the Mount of Olives to visit the site of the Ascension and the Church of the Pater Noster. Dominus Flevit (the Lord wept) Church, From where we can contemplate a beautiful view of Jerusalem. Garden of Gethsemane, The Basilica of the Agony, Grotto of the Betrayal and Church of the Assumption, where the Tomb of the Virgin Mary is venerated, the Kidron Valley (of the Valley of Jehoshaphat). Lunch. In the afternoon, Transfer to Mount Zion to visit the Cenacle, site of Jesus’ Last Supper and of some of the appearances after the resurrection; the Tomb of King David, the Basilica of the Dormition, built in the pace where is is supposed that the Virgin lived; Continuation to the Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu, where Jesus was judged and condemned by the Sanhedrin. Return to the hotel. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 7 JERUSALEM Breakfast. Tour of the Via Dolorosa, Tour of the Lythostrotos, finishing in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, where we will visit Calvary, the Crypt of Santa Helen and Jesus’ Tomb, where we will celebrate the Resurrection. Tour of the Wailing Wall, sacred site of the Jews; Continuation to the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus cured the paralytic, and Tour of the beautiful crusade Church of Saint Anne. Lunch. Afternoon free for personal activities. Dinner and lodging.

DAY 8 JERUSALEM – TEL AVIV – MADRID Breakfast. Departure for New Jerusalem, view panoramic tour of the Temple Mount, de las Mosques, of Parliament (Knesset) and de the Hebrew University. Tour of the Museum de Israel and the Maqueta de Jerusalem in the times of Jesus. Lunch. Transfer to the airport to embark on the return flight to Madrid. Arrival and END OF TRIP
